Lexus does more than enhance every drive in Portland with luxury accouterments and world-class touches in the cabin. If you want to save money on refueling costs but don’t want to rely completely on electric power, a hybrid or PHEV is for you. Don’t want to worry about transmission fluid changes, radiator flushes, and spark plugs? Then perhaps it’s time to buy an all-electric vehicle near Vancouver.
Lexus will be expanding its EV lineup in 2024 with its GX SUV and then its all-new NX PHEV or TX PHEV. However, you have a wide variety of Lexus electric options on our lot in Portland right now!
Discover everything you need to know with our Lexus EV first-time buyer’s guide.
Whether you favor a hybrid, PHEV, or all-electric EV, you’ll get a fantastic vehicle with all of the amenities modern drivers demand from a luxury automaker.
We’ll go over what to look for in an EV in detail.
With an all-electric vehicle, you won’t have to worry about oil changes, transmission fluid changes, spark plug replacements, and other maintenance tasks associated with internal combustion engines. Keep an eye on the tires and brakes because EVs are heavier than comparably sized internal combustion engine models. In general, your overall costs are still lower than an internal combustion engine.
You’ll also need to install a special home charger to make charging in your Beaverton garage much easier. We highly recommend the ChargePoint® Home Flex system for home charging. You’ll need an electrician to install one in your Portland garage or carport. This option is often still cheaper than gasoline when charging your car overnight!
How often will you need public fast charging? That could cost you money as well, but in general, it’s lower than gas prices, which remain quite high. Even charging at peak times can be less expensive than heading to a gas station.
The overall range between charges is a huge consideration for those who are thinking about a Lexus EV in Hillsboro. Luckily, the current Lexus all-electric EV gets plenty of range for weekend getaways to your favorite beach, resort, mountain, hiking, or outdoor destination. The PHEV is perfect to get you to the office and back for daily commutes on electric-only power. You can save plenty of money on gas if you live close enough to the office.

The key to long journeys and even Portland-area driving for commutes and weekly errands is to map out your trip to make sure your EV will have enough power to make the trip. Many major metropolitan areas, like Portland, and well-traveled interstate highways have public charging stations at key locations, making long trips possible in an EV. The Lexus app gives you easy and convenient access to ChargePoint stations on your route, allowing you to determine the best roads and highways to travel.
Prices will vary at these stations because electricity costs, just like gasoline prices, vary from city to city. Also, take into account how often you’ll use the air conditioner or heater because those run on electricity from the EV battery. Extreme temperatures can affect range, so keep this in mind as well.
The battery warranty shows you how long you can expect your EV powerplant to perform well. Lexus offers a 10-year, 150,000-mile warranty on hybrid and EV batteries for vehicles made in 2020 or later. You won’t have to worry about your EV battery expiring anytime soon!
